Stormwater & Roofwater
AWS is able to design Stormwater and Roofwater systems that allow for effective and efficient management of these. Poorly managed storm and roof water can have a huge effect on site surrounds and an environmental impact on downstream waterways. An AWS design can help mitigate these effects whether it be for re-use or ensuring that your home or building will have the correct system put in place.
Stormwater is water that originates from rain including snow and ice melt. Stormwater can soak into the soil, be stored on the land surface in ponds and puddles, evaporate or runoff. Most runoff is conveyed directly to nearby streams, rivers or other water bodies without treatment.
- Stormwater Drainage Systems
- Rainwater Re-use
Roofwater generally refers to the rainwater that falls on a roof. This requires downpipes and gutters that allow the water to reasonably drain from your property and not allow the water flow to collect and stagnate. This does not apply to dams, ponds, rainwater tanks and wetlands.
